1997 Landrover Defender 90 300TDi

This Defender has had quite a lot of time and money lavished upon it in the past, finished in Firenze Red Metallic with gloss black trim it cuts quite a dash, topped of with the chunky wheels and Insa Turbo tyres.

The interior has been upgraded with the rather expensive moulded rubber sound deadening mats, retrimmed leather seats with red stitching (and matching gearknob!), cubby box, sunroof, alloy steering wheel, upgraded grill kit with led headlights, led rear and side lights, Apple CarPlay stereo, fully carpeted and soundproofed rear compartment with bench seats (with seatbelts), immobiliser, side steps, etc, etc!!!

There is a an electronic immobiliser fitted for extra security.

It drives very well, despite the off roady type tyres, pulling well, all the gears working fine and the soundproofing doing a great job!

The bulkhead looks remarkably good.

The original chassis, with the chassis number still clearly readable has had a new rear crossmember and been repaired as necessary to make it strong, with repairs and reinforcing done using 2mm steel plate. It was then wire brushed, treated with rust killer, painted with smooth hamerite then lagged in waxoyl, so should be good for several years to come.

The doors are all good, with no rot in the frames.

The brakes have just been rebuilt with new calipers, disks (uprated to vented on the front), back plates, braided stainless steel hoses, copper brake pipes,  hub seals 

Powered by the last of the 'proper'' Landrover engines, the bullet proof 300 TDi, we have just replaced the head gasket (due to a minor oil leak on the side), fitted a new cam belt kit, oil and filter change, fuel filter, new radiator, new alternator, etc, etc, it starts instantly and runs very sweetly.

There is a receipt in the paperwork for a reconditioned steering box in September 2025.
