1951 Jowett Javelin

Now, this is a bit different!

Made by the plucky Yorkshire firm Jowett cars, the Javelin was one of its two all new and innovative post war models along with the Jupiter sports car (which won its class at Le Mans!), when most other manufacturers were still wheezing on with their prewar offerings.

Hailed by the motoring press at the time for their class leading performance and road holding, it was an amazing achievement for such a small company to built two class leading models.

This example was restored some years ago but has spent the last 15 years languishing in a museum, with a new battery and some fresh petrol it is now running well with good oil pressure and driving in the yard, it will have a full service and brake overhaul before sale.

The bodywork isn't perfect, but considering its last coat of paint was at least 20 years ago, it's fairing pretty well. All the bightwork polishes up well and is quite presentable, The interior looks to be mostly original and really is in lovely condition, nicely mellowed and the steering wheel isn't cracked like the majority of them.
